Dolvot
Lavllačállincampa/song writing camps
Dolvot is a gathering point for young Sámi musicians, initiated by Ella Marie Hætta Isaksen and JM Norway. The songwriting camps, joik camps, and other activities within the project bring performing musicians and songwriters together under one roof to inspire each other, create new music, and exchange experiences. We aim to build networks, unity, and confidence, and lay the groundwork for new musical collaborations across all of Sápmi and the Nordic countries.
Among those who have participated so far are Agnete Saba, Katarina Barruk, Emil Kárlsen, Ole-Henrik Lifjell, Elin Oskal, Hildá Länsman, Lávre, Elle Maija Kleftad Bær, and Vegard Bjørsmo.
In addition to the songwriting camps, we want to showcase the talents that exist and contribute to raising awareness in the music industry about why and how one can help strengthen the wave of young, Sámi music talents. That's why we have programmed panels like "The Next Nordic Export Wave is Indigenous" at Bylarm, and "The Rise of Indigenous Pop Culture" at Oslo World. In 2022, we organized a camp in collaboration with Sámi Grand Prix, where four of the songs were selected for participation in the competition.
Dolvot has received support from Nordic Culture Point, Norsk Kulturråd. NOPA, Sametinget, Saami Council and Sparebanksstiftelsen.
