Music Workshops for Young Asylum Seekers

Music Workshops for Young Asylum Seekers (MUA)

Across the country there are young people who do not have equal access to culture and music. JM Norway wants to do something about that.

JM Norway has since 2012 hosted music workshops at reception centers around the country. In collaboration with musicians, music therapists and dedicated amateur musicians from the local community JM Norway wants to give asylum seekers a bright spot in an otherwise difficult life and to share the joy of music and inspiration. We have ukulele games and djembe jams in harmony and disharmony, fairy tales and sing-alongs. Culture transmitted and received. Children and teenagers aged 5-15 years have been the main focus of these meetings, and it is great when parents also heave with and contribute.
