The first tour of the JMWO in 2009 has finished few days ago. For me this was the sixth time playing with this orchestra and every time it was a great joy and pleasure to meet all the young musicians from all over the World. This time was special because we had two projects in one tour. First part of the tour was opera production in Bilbao. We were guests of the Arriaga teather and playing the Poulanc’s opera “Les Mamelles de tiresias”. The second part of the tour was symphonic program. We were playing Stravinsky “Petrushka”, Shostakovich cello concerto and smaller symphonic pieces by Charles Ives and John Adams. We had concerts in Altea, Valencia, Madrid and Alicante. Completing 6th tour I was awarded with the plaque given to me by the mayor of Altea, the home town of conductor Josep Vicent. I would recommend all the young musicians from Norway to try to audition and become a part of such a unique orchestra.
