JMN-Support to EMCY concert

 

JMN has allocated a grant to the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY) and their EuroRadio Youth Concert in Oslo April 2, 2009. Winners from some of the highest ranked music competitions in Europe will come to Oslo and perform together with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK)

 

The EuroRadio Youth Concerts is a cooperation project between EMCY and the European Broadcasting Union.

 
The concert will take place in Store Studio, NRK Marienlyst, Thrusday April 2 at 7.30 PM.
The soloist are:

Trond Gjeldsted Dale (Norway) – Percussion
Sabrina Vlaskalic (Serbia) – Guitar
Dionysis Grammenos (Greece)  – Clarinet
 

About EMCY:

The European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY) is an umbrella organisation for over 60 national and international youth music competitions in 25 European countries. They support these competitions in their work and, together with partners all over Europe, try to give as many prize winners as possible the chance to take part in concerts, tours, seminars, master classes etc. all over Europe. Their most prestigious yearly project is the EuroRadio Youth Concert.
 

The EuroRadio Youth Concert:
  • is hosted annually by a different European radio station

  • features the respective radio symphony orchestra and a renowned conductor,

  • is a public concert with a focus on a young audience,

  • is broadcast live in the respective country and offered for a live or deferred

  • transmission all over Europe in cooperation with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU),

  • is an important step for young soloists at the beginning of their musical career, 

  • is documented on CD/DVD

  • is a joint venture of the EMCY and the EBU,

 
The Soloists:
 
  • come from different countries and play different instruments

  • are a selection of top prize winners of international EMCY Member Competitions of the past season 

  • are between 16 and 24 years of age

  • are invited by EMCY in cooperation with the respective radio station/orchestra
